A SHORT STORY WITH A LONG HISTORY
Jesus taught his followers to share with others about his Father's plan to save the world. This training was then solidified and commissioned on his ascension day when he instructed them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." This historic event changed the trajectory of the world. Those close followers went out, and every generation after them began traveling out to the ends of the earth sharing this good news of salvation and hope to every person they met. As more and more people began following Jesus, new churches were started everywhere!

We are a part of that history and legacy. Like other churches, we believe that God has commissioned us to be the good news of hope and restoration to those around us. We are committed to helping our church grow in their faith, and we are also focused on helping those just beginning their faith journey to discover God's good news for their life.
We began this new church with a conviction that all people need close, trustworthy friends to discuss important faith questions before they will probably ever consider following God on their own. Therefore, we put a big emphasis on building strong relationships with people in our immediate circles. This is not a conditional friendship, nor is it self-serving. Instead, it is just the opposite. Converge wants to be people who love wholly and live selflessly for those around us. We converge on the people in our lives and try to show them the grace and joy we have experienced in Jesus. This is not pretentious or put-on, but a real, honest, and sometimes raw look at our lives. However, while not perfect, we believe that God has done something in our lives that others may be interested in having themselves. We are a people committed to ENGAGING PEOPLE WITH PURPOSE.
This church is new, but was not started out of schism or hurt feelings. It came from the same vision to "make disciples" given 2,000 years ago by Jesus. Our parent church, The Bridge, hired Pastor Mitch to start a new church that could reach more people with God's good news of grace and salvation. This came from the same church planting fervor that we see in Acts from apostles like Paul and Peter! We started meeting in the Bridge's gym on January of 2020 with our launch team. We began by training and planning for the formation of this new church, while also growing as a community and inviting more to join us. If you are doing the calendar math in your head, you probably realize that this was only a couple months before a global pandemic changed everything. It has been an unusual start for sure, but it has provided opportunities to really evaluate the church's place in our culture, care for many in practical ways, and also create a strong foundation built on people! Our team has been growing and persistent, so we can continue to make a positive impact on this community and the people around us. We continue to see exciting milestones as a church and individuals and are excited about the future of Converge Community.
Starting a church is certainly not easy, but it is an exciting adventure that will change your life and the lives of others! Will you consider joining our efforts?! There are no requirements other than a willingness to grow and help others. Life is more than addressing your personal needs and wants. It is about helping others experience love, hope, restoration, freedom, and more. We would love for you to take that faith journey yourself and help others along on their road of faith.
