In the message, we learned that God wants us to know His heart of grace. He extends this grace to both Jonah and the Ninevites—neither of whom earned or deserved it. Because of His grace, God pursues us, forgives us, and teaches us how to live in a way that extends radical grace to others. Jonah struggles to understand God's love and mercy, especially when it is given to his enemies, the Ninevites. He resists God's mission, reflecting an unfortunate tendency in God’s people that persists beyond his time all the way until today. Jesus taught a parable that in many ways parallels the story of Jonah, highlighting both God’s grace and our human reluctance to see it extended to others.
