In this message we learn about Isaiah’s servant songs help us to get a clear picture of the messiah that God was going to send to rescue his people. He wasn’t a powerful warrior or glorious king. He was a suffering servant, despised and rejected, willingly accepting mockery and even death. On the other side of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, we rightly give Jesus thanks and praise and glory for the life of obedient, sacrificial love he lived for us. However, as Paul would write to the early church at Philippi, we are not only called to worship Jesus for what he has done, we are called to be like him in our own lives.
